Music institution visual identity created for BaseToDo, developed for Bielskie Centrum Kultury – a local-government cultural institution whose goal is to support the music industry, give emerging musicians a professional start, and develop and connect the local music community in Bielsko-Biała and the surrounding area. Because the institution operates across several areas, the music institution visual identity was divided into five distinct sections: I. STUDIO, II. PRODUCTION, III. RECORDS, IV. EVENTS and V. WORKSHOPS, each assigned its own accent colour while remaining consistent with the main logotype. The starting point for the design was a custom, elongated BaseToDo logotype, based on contrasting, geometric typography that works well both in its single-colour version and in the colours assigned to each section. Every section also received a dedicated graphic pattern referencing sound waves, audio equalisers and rhythmic sequences – motifs that recur consistently across printed and digital materials, building a coherent, recognisable visual system for the whole institution. The music institution visual identity includes a full set of promotional and functional materials: business cards, stickers, t-shirts, concert posters, vinyl record sleeves, tote bags and social media graphics. Each section carries its own visual application of the system – Records extends the identity onto vinyl sleeves, Events onto concert posters for the Soul Night series, and Workshops onto materials promoting music and singing workshops. As the institution grows, the music institution visual identity can be expanded to cover further sections. A coherent visual identity helps BaseToDo effectively build recognition among the local music community and participants of its events and workshops. The scope of the project covered the visual identity as well as off-site event workshops carried out together with Bielskie Centrum Kultury.
